The sense of destiny in synastry is often not based on romantic feelings alone, but the nodes, angles, Saturn, and outer planets amplify the relationship experience to the point where it's like "this relationship has to happen."
A sense of fate is most easily misunderstood as "this is the answer."
Many relationships are memorable not because they are the most comfortable, but because they feel like they had to happen.
