What does phase tolerance mean?

Phase does not only exist at exactly 0, 60, 90, 120, or 180 degrees. Tolerance is the range within which deviation from the precise angle is allowed. For example, two planets that are 92 degrees apart may still be in a square; but the farther apart, the weaker the effect is usually.

When reading the tape, the smaller the tolerance, the stronger the evidence. Especially when it comes to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Ascendant, and personal planets, close aspects can often enter the main line.

The sun and moon are luminous bodies with high weight and can usually have wider orbs than asteroids and fixed stars. Personal planetary aspects also enter into daily experience more easily than distant sensitive points. The tolerances for asteroids, Arabian points, and fixed stars usually need to be tightened, otherwise the disk will be filled with noise.

This is not a mechanical numbers game, but a weighted judgment. The more central the point, the more it can handle a slightly wider phase; the more auxiliary the point, the more accurate it is.

Wide aspects are not completely ineffective, but they should not easily overwhelm tight aspects. If the theme of a wide aspect connection is repeated many times in the chart, it can be used as a supplement; if it exists in isolation, it is not suitable for drawing strong conclusions.

The problem with many templated articles is that they explain all phases equally, causing the really important configurations to be submerged.

After opening the phase table, sort by Orb from small to large. Read the closest aspects first, and then screen whether they involve the sun, moon, ascendant, ascendant, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and angular houses. Finally, place the broad, non-repetitive phases on the background layer so they don’t take away from the subject.
