What is the difference between retrograde and anterograde stations?
What is the difference between retrograde and anterograde stations?
The difference between the retrograde station and the anterograde station is not just that the direction arrows are opposite, but that the subject is handled differently: one is more like looking back and re-digesting, and the other is more like restoring the flow and landing again.
Standing retrograde is like braking and looking back, standing forward is like letting go and restarting
Near a retrograde station, things often start to slow down, become sticky, and become less straightforward to rush forward. You will be forced to look back at the omissions, correct them, review them, re-talk them, and feel them again. The direct station is the opposite. Many issues that were originally delayed, hesitant, stuck or hanging will begin to advance again. It didn't fly immediately, but its sense of direction became clear again.
So the biggest difference between the two is not "whether there are events", but "in which way things move".
The same star, retrograde station and direct station will present completely different psychological languages.
Taking Mercury as an example, the retrograde station may mean that communication errors are revealed, old information is recirculated, and decisions are delayed; the direct station is more like information gradually being finalized, communication restored, and things getting back on track. The same goes for Venus, Mars, Saturn and even the outer planets. The retrograde station makes it easier for people to realize that the problem has not yet been digested, while the forward station is like being able to finally move on with new understanding.
So we can’t just look at the name of the star, but also look at how it is turning now.
The real key point of judgment is "what is the theme of this star recycling, and how is it going to move forward again?"
Mature interpretation will not just say "retrograde station is to review, direct station is to move forward", but will further ask: What is the review? What is it that is moving forward again? Is it the value judgment in a relationship? Is it the power and responsibility structure in a career? Is it the rhythm of the body? Is it desire and motivation? Only when the question falls on the specific stars and house themes can the turning difference become a usable observation.
Turn is not an abstract word, it must fall into some specific life language.
Retrograde station and anterograde station, the focus is on the sense of time direction
Many people get nervous when they see "retrograde station" or "forward station". A more helpful understanding is: Retrograde station is not bad, and direct station does not automatically become better, but the processing and advancement methods are different. One forces you to look back and understand things, and the other gives you the opportunity to move forward with new understanding.
After clarifying this sense of direction, you will know better what you should look back on now and what you should put down again.
