What is three-party and four-right?

The most common misinterpretation of Ziwei Dou Shu is to draw conclusions from a single palace. When asking about career, just look at the career palace, when asking about love, just look at the husband and wife palace, and when asking about wealth, just look at the wealth and silk palace. Reading this way is faster, but it's also easy to make mistakes. Because no life issue occurs in isolation: career requires self-sustainability, resource flow and external markets; relationships require inner security, real life and relationship interaction; wealth also requires ability, opportunity, preservation and risk management.

The function of the three squares and four squares is to put a single house back into the structure to which it belongs. It tells us: In this field, not only the stars in this house are speaking, but the surrounding support, containment, mirroring and external conditions are also jointly shaping the results.

When reading the three directions and four directions, the first step is not to scan all the houses, but to determine the own house first. I answer "Where is the subject of the question?" For example, when asking about career, the career palace is this palace; when asking about relationships, the husband and wife palace is this palace; when asking about self-axis, the life palace is this palace. Without this house, the three directions and four directions will become scattered everywhere.

After deciding on your own house, look at the three directions. Three parties usually describe which resource lines, action lines, and external scenes this theme is connected to. The three parties in the Life Palace are often connected to wealth, career, and migration, indicating that the main axis of the self is inseparable from resources, responsibilities, and external interactions; the three parties in the House of Marriage will reveal how the relationship is supported or consumed by life, emotions, and real conditions.

The four positive elements include the opposite palace. Opposite signs are not simply in conflict, nor are they always opposites. It is often like a mirror: it reflects back the parts of the palace that are not easily visible directly from external relationships, environmental feedback, or the relative realm. The life palace looks at the self, and the opposite palace will reflect how a person looks in the outside world; the husband and wife palace looks at intimate relationships, and the opposite palace often reflects how the relationship is affected by another life or responsibility structure.

If the own house is empty, the opposite house is more important; if the main star of the main house is strong, the opposite house can also explain the response it will encounter. Opposition means that judgment no longer only looks at "what I am", but "how I show up in relationships and environments."

After many people learn the three directions and four directions, they become more confused: they look at the main house, the opposite house, the three directions, the auxiliary stars, and the four transformations, and in the end everything can be explained. The solution is layering. The first level looks at the main line of the palace, the second level looks at the resources or pressure provided by the three parties, the third level looks at how the opposite palace is mirrored, and the fourth level looks at how the four transformations and auxiliary evil spirits are triggered.

After layering, the three-party approach is not about stacking information, but about sorting evidence. It will become much clearer which house directly answers the question, which house provides conditions, which house is stuck in explanation, and which house is just supplementary details.

The three directions and four righteousnesses must finally be translated into realistic sentences. It’s not that “the career palace is good, the wealth palace is good, or there are stars in the migration palace”, but “this person has a career to undertake, but the flow of money depends on the external market. If cooperation boundaries are not established, there will be many opportunities and they will be easily dispersed.” It’s not that “the house of husband and wife is rushed”, but that “the need for intimacy in a relationship is often affected by external pressure and life arrangements, so communication rules need to be established in advance.”

The depth of the Three Squares and Four Rightes lies not in how many houses you have seen, but in whether you can organize multiple houses into a structural line that can explain reality.
