Pattern, Use God, Xi Shen and Ji Shen should organize a timing judgment only after the natal structure, long-cycle background and short-cycle trigger are described separately. They may show whether the background needs support, the trigger needs containment, or a route needs an outlet. They do not turn a cycle into a rank of good years and bad years. State the method and conditions. A useful timing statement includes the opportunity, the constraint, the decision window and the practical adjustment. If the cycle is not connected to the natal bottleneck, say so rather than inventing a dramatic interpretation.

The same major and annual influences can produce different outcomes for two people with different roles. Common errors include saying major luck is always more important, letting annual luck override the natal chart, predicting a specific event from one stem, mixing background and trigger in one vague sentence, or treating a favorable year as permission to ignore risk.
