What layers does our chart consist of?

When many people open a horoscope, they regard all symbols as the same layer of information: planets, aspects, asteroids, fixed stars, and transits are all mixed together. This is the easiest way to lose focus. The real reading of the market should be done in layers: first look at the natal structure, then look at the time trigger, and then look at the supplementary details.

The natal chart answers "what is the original structure of this person"; the transit answers "what is being triggered now"; the progression answers "how does the inner stage develop"; the reflection chart answers "where is the theme of this year concentrated".

The natal chart is the base map for all judgments. It looks at the triumvirate, lord of the horoscope, houses, aspects, planetary weights and thematic focus. Without a natal chart, transit and synastry can easily become general explanations.

For example, when Saturn transits the tenth house, for a person whose natal tenth house is strong, it may be the acceptance of the career structure; for another person, it may be just a short-term increase in responsibilities. Different base maps mean different meanings of the same movement.

The transit chart overlays the current sky onto the natal chart to see which natal points are triggered. Slow planets are suitable for looking at stage themes, while fast planets are suitable for looking at short-term event sense and emotional windows.

Transits are not predicted events outside of the natal chart. It's more like time weather: the weather affects you, but how it affects you depends on your terrain.

Progressed fortunes are more focused on the internal rhythm of development. For example, when the progressed moon changes signs, it will change the emotional focus of several years. The solar return chart is more suitable for looking at the annual theme between the birthday and the next birthday, especially looking at the solar return rising, the sun setting and the key houses of the year.

These techniques are not substitutes for each other, but look at the same period of life from different time scales.

Asteroids, Fixed Stars, Arabian Points, Chirons, Nodes, etc. can all provide detail, but are not suitable for overpowering the main structure initially. They are more like magnifying glasses than foundations.

If the main line of the natal chart already points to relationship issues, Juno can add to the commitment approach; if the main line of career is strong, Fixed Star or Lot of Fortune can add special emphasis. But don’t substitute supplementary points for the Big Three, houses, and aspects.

A complete astrological report is usually divided into basic configurations, planetary placements, aspects, weights, transits, progressions, returns and suggestions. When reading a report, do not treat each paragraph as an equal conclusion. First look at which themes appear repeatedly in multiple chapters, and then determine whether it is the main thread.

A truly useful report is not one that has the most jargon, but one that clearly explains the level of evidence.

First just open the natal chart and look for the main structure. Turn on the fortune again and see which natal points are currently triggered. Then see if the progression and return support the same theme. Finally, look at whether asteroids, fixed stars and professional techniques can add details.

If a conclusion appears repeatedly in the natal chart, transits, progresses, or reflections, its credibility will be higher.
