What does palace system mean?

Houses are not twelve grids fixed on the horoscope, but areas of life cut out based on birth time, place and calculation method. Palace system is the method of dividing the houses.

Common palace systems include Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal House, etc. Different house systems may cause a certain planet to fall into different houses, and may also change the judgment of the cusp constellation and house ruler.
