The Devil meaning

Chains that are not locked — bondage held in place by your own consent.

The Devil shows two figures chained to a throne, but if you look carefully, the chains are loose — they could step out. The card depicts the psychology of addiction, entanglement, and self-limiting patterns that persist not because they are inescapable but because naming them feels worse than staying.
