The natal chart, transit chart, and synastry chart are often mentioned together, but they are not the same thing. The natal chart answers "what is my original structure"; the transit chart answers "what themes are triggered now"; the synastry chart answers "how do I and another person affect each other".

If you mix the three, there will be many misjudgments. For example, using the synastry chart to explain a person's long-term personality, using the natal chart to directly determine the events of a certain month, and using Mercury retrograde to determine the entire direction of a relationship are not rigorous enough.

The natal chart is the chart at the time of birth and describes a person's long-term tendencies: security, expression, relationship patterns, career structure, pressure points, resources, and life projects.

The natal chart is not a command or a list of events. It is like a structure map, indicating which themes are more likely to reoccur, which abilities need to be developed, and which areas tend to become main threads.

The transit chart stacks the current planets onto the natal chart to see how the current sky triggers your natal structure. It is suitable for looking at the theme of stages, windows of pressure, windows of opportunity and a sense of time for certain changes in reality.

The fleeting time cannot be separated from the natal chart. Saturn's transit affects different people differently because it triggers different natal houses and natal planets.

Comparison charts usually include comparative charts and composite charts. A comparative chart stacks two people's natal charts together to see how the other person's planets trigger your natal points; a composite chart looks at the relationship itself as a structure.

The synastry is not about "who is good and who is bad", nor is it a simple matching of scores. It looks at attraction, security, communication, pressure, long-term structure and the ability to handle reality.

If you ask "Why am I always attracted to the same kind of people?", first look at your natal chart. If you ask "Why did you meet this kind of person again recently?", it depends on whether the fleeting time triggers the natal relationship configuration. If you ask "Why am I so strong with this person?", then look at the synastry chart.

The three types of disks are not substitutes for each other, but division of labor and cooperation. First determine the level of the problem, and then decide which disk to use.

When opening a tool, ask yourself: Am I looking at an individual's long-term pattern, the current time period, or two people interacting? The long-term pattern depends on the birth, the current stage depends on the fleeting time, and the interactive structure depends on the synastry.

If the problem involves three levels at the same time, look at it in the order of natal chart → transit chart → combined chart. First look at the personal structure, then look at the time trigger, and finally look at how the other party presses the button.

The natal chart asks what a person repeatedly carries as a structure. A transit chart asks what is being activated in the current environment. Synastry asks how two charts interact and where each person stimulates, supports, or pressures the other. A composite chart, when used, describes a relationship pattern rather than either person’s complete identity. Mixing these units creates false certainty.

If someone asks why they repeatedly withdraw during conflict, begin with the natal Moon, Mars, house rulers, and aspects. If they ask why the pattern feels especially active this month, add transits to the natal structure. If they ask why it appears with one partner, compare both charts and examine the actual communication history. Each chart narrows a different part of the question; none replaces conversation or consent.

A transit can time attention around a natal theme, but it does not create a personality pattern that has no natal support. Synastry can show a trigger between two people, but it cannot prove that one person is destined to harm, save, or belong to the other. Treat activation, interaction, and baseline structure as separate evidence.

Write the question first, identify the chart unit that can answer it, and keep the other units as secondary checks. Verify with dated events, observed behavior, and both people’s reports rather than with a single aspect. Do not use synastry to excuse coercion, diagnose a partner, guarantee permanence, or replace legal, medical, therapeutic, or safety support.

For a difficult relationship question, make three columns: natal repetition, current activation, and interpersonal interaction. In the natal column, record the person’s recurring response and its supporting planets and rulers. In the activation column, record the transit or progression and its dates. In the interaction column, record the synastry contact and what both people actually did. This format prevents a temporary trigger from being mistaken for a permanent trait and prevents a synastry aspect from being used to excuse behavior that the real relationship does not support.

Synastry is a relationship lens, so it cannot replace either person’s natal chart. A contact that feels compelling to one person may feel burdensome to the other, and a supportive aspect does not remove differences in consent, history, communication skill, or power. Compare each person’s natal capacity with the interaction shown in synastry. Then ask what both people can observe and change. The responsible conclusion may be that the connection is intense but difficult to sustain, or ordinary but workable with clear agreements.

Use natal planets, signs, houses, rulers, and aspects to explain baseline capacity. Use transiting planets, exact contacts, house activation, and repeated passes to describe timing and external pressure. Use synastry contacts and house overlays to describe interaction, then compare each person's natal Moon, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and relationship rulers for context. When the question is 'what is this relationship becoming?', add the Composite chart instead of treating one person's transit as the couple's destiny.

Imagine a fictional person with natal Venus-Saturn tension who is beginning a relationship while transiting Uranus activates the natal seventh-house ruler. Their synastry with the new partner contains an easy Mercury contact and a difficult Moon contact. Natal data can describe cautious attachment; the transit can mark a period of changing expectations; synastry can show direct conversation alongside emotional mismatch. Ask the person what they need, observe the partner's response, and review the pattern after four weeks. No single layer can promise commitment or breakup.

A common error treats a difficult transit as proof that a partner is wrong, or a beautiful synastry aspect as proof that timing will cooperate. Label every note NATAL, TRANSIT, SYNASTRY, or COMPOSITE, verify birth data and house settings, and record the concrete behavior that supports the interpretation.
